When we met last week I encouraged you to attend tomorrow’s Mental Health Board Finance Committee where the 2017 BHD budget recommendations will be shared and there is an opportunity for public comment. I hope you can attend. We are very frustrated that as of this morning the budget recommendations are still not posted so it does not allow time for the public to analyze and prepare substantive comments. I have encouraged board members to act on this.

Mental Health Task Force Update – Reminder about 5/26 Mental Health Board Finance Committee Meeting and Public Input
This is a reminder that Milwaukee County Mental Health Board Finance Committee will meet this Thursday, May 26th at 4 PM at Washington Park Senior Center, 4420 West Vliet. The meeting will include an overview of the 2017 BHD budget, as well as time for public comment on the BHD budget recommendations. Don’t miss this opportunity for public input on the 2017 BHD Budget recommendations – note that speakers are limited to three minutes.
We have been inquiring as to when the BHD Budget recommendations will be posted so that members of the public can review them and prepare comments for Thursday’s meeting. We learned this morning from BHD Fiscal Administrator Randy Oleszak that the BHD Budget Recommendations document will not be posted until Wednesday – the day prior to the meeting. We had hoped to provide you in advance of the Thursday meeting with a comparison of the BHD budget recommendations with the Mental Health Task Force recommendations but given the short timeline, we are not sure if this will be possible. We will share additional information as it becomes available.
